So I "installed" a new sunroof in the family truckster yesterday. From the driver's seat. With my HEAD.

Here's how, this Fire:

This everything, in fact, the whole show, I'm STILL buzzing, I can't WAIT to blast this motherfckckker tonight. It must be old news, but it's new to me, and hopefully to some of you.

Happy weekend, bros (and sisters, any sisters even here?)

Make surer you don't miss the Music Never Stopped, I've had a incredible version of this for years and have only heard one to come close to it.

Great show!

Awesome. Yeah, I was having to listen piecemeal yesterday, between doing this, eschewing that. Tonight, though, this baby's getting the undivided attention of a certain me, a certain wife, and two lean certain hounds. Two clean certain squares would be nice, but whaddya gonna do?

"blacklakelight:" ..fantastic recommendation - whatever Weir is doin' is rather unique. Jerry's ad-lib with the lyrics on the final chorus is unique as well ("..let it burn..") Thanks a lot.

.."Music Never Stopped" is an understatement! ...great version!!

No man, I was bouncin'-- through the roof!

Hope all is well with you, oh ponderer of grace. I think of you when the lyrics take a turn to deeper meaning. No joke.

Thank you for the gracious sentiment. I edited my post after I saw previous post.

Do you think "That was not made by the hands of men" was a rather prophetic statement back in the early '70's(?) Here we are in 2008 and the music continues to surprise us ..absolutely amazing phenomenon.

I'm glad to hear you are doing well.

Yes. That's what people who don't know, don't get. Or uh, vice-versa. "How much Grateful Dead can you listen to? How much do you need?"

How much baseball does a baseball fan need? When do they stop wanting to be dumbfounded, awestricken, amazed? Main difference is we're now in reel-time instead of real-time.

The lossless phenomenon also really blows my mind, along with the mix-magic of folks like Charlie Miller (and many others)patching, tweaking, making every note shine.

I agree 4/24/78 is one of THE great Scarlet>Fires ever...

I urge you to check out other dates from April '78 as well--a brilliant run of shows that includes 4/8, (another fine SC>Fire), 4/12 (an all time ROW JIMMY, killer LIGHTNING>SUPP), 4/14 (TN JED, PROMISED) 4/16 (again w/the SC>Fire, plus a killer EST>EYES), and 4/18...

next to May of '77 I think April '78 might be their greatest month/year in terms of consistently HOT shows!

Amen to that! I saw 2 shows that month of April '78, the Nashville show (Tennessee Dead) and the Lexington KY show. Left a smoking crater for sure. Check out Deal from this Nashville show where they do the "don't ya let that deal go down" chorus 43, I repeat 43 times!! Yikes!!
